Garopaba is a tourist beach privileged by its geography which combines the beauty of some of the most stunning beaches in Brazil - and the world - with the blooming exuberance of the Atlantic Forests. Such a blend, offers different charming scenarios, captivating everyone who arrives in town. In the 1970s, Garopaba was "discovered" by the Hippies from Porto Alerge, attracted to the area by the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful beaches. The beaches are excellent and located a short distance surrounding the village. There are 13 beaches in Garopaba, including Gamboa, Garopaba, Siriu, Silveira, Ferrugem, Vigia, Barra, Ouvidor, Vermelha, Rosa, Luz, Guarda do Embau, and Ibiraquera
Gamboa
At the North borderline of the town, with a soft and strong sea Gamboa
mesmerizes the soul because of its natural beauty. Garopaba
Is
the central beach in town, which is also the most popular because
of its downtown location and for its sea conditions, which are usually
very calm and perfect for swimming and small children.Siriu
Between Gamboa and Garopaba is the largest beach, Siriu, which is formed by a 2 mile sandy strip, totally preserved by the dune, ending at a small dam connecting Siriu River to the Atlantic Ocean. Silveira
Silveira is an internationally beach famous because it happens to be one of
the best point breaks in Brazil, and has consistently perfect waves throughout the year. During
the whale watching season, it also provides magnificent shows while
observing the whales from the mainland.Ferrugem
Perfect
for surfing, or excellent night life. Ferrugem is the most popular
beach for the younger population because of its crowded beach bars.
It is highly concentrated with a great number of hostels and small
inns, filled full of activity, movement, and beautiful people.Vigia
Is the smallest beach. This is the chosen spot for families looking for a calm sea and for those who enjoy walking along the surreal cliff side.
Barra
A
quite residential spot, this beach is separated by the Garopaba
lagoon, which when closed, creates a pool of warm water. Even though
the sea can be very strong here, its still can be a very quite and
romantic place.Ouvidor
With access through the Campo D'Una, Ouvidor impresses tourists because
of its preservation. This beach is very quite and is chosen for those
who seek a day in contact with nature.Vermelha
This beach has a very difficult access, is very mysterious, and rarely
attended. Vermehlha is a true secret spot between the sky, sea and the
limits of your imagination.Rosa
Part of the Imbituba jurisdiction, Praia do Rosa is the most cosmopolitan
in the region and one of the most beautiful in the area. Rosa Beach
is the perfect location to surf and is chosen because of its charming
nature. Furnished with many hostels, small hotels and restaurants it
also offers an intense night life. Luz
Separated from Ibiraquera by a dam of the lagoon, Luz beach is a very
peaceful place, good for water sports such as wind and kite surfing.Guarda do Embau
Further North from Gamboa, this beach is also known as the artists
spot. Also considered one of the nicest beaches in the country and it
has good options for small inns or hostels. Ibiraquera
From the dam with the same name, up to Ribanceira Beach, this is a
long, open and quite beach, which is ideal for water sports, especially
wind or kite surfing.
